FireProof

Thursday night the chapel on post had movie night. I was finally able to watch the movie FireProof. My mom told me about the movie and really encouraged me to see it. A lot of my friends on Face Book also talked about the movie and gave it great reviews as well. I was really excited about seeing it! The chapel provided dinner before the movie and my bible study group provided desserts (I made cupcakes). I had planned on having the girls go into the child care room while I watched the movie, but it was more of a nursery environment and the girls were by far the oldest in the room and there was nothing provided to entertain the girls. Therefore I brought the girls with me into the chapel to watch the movie as well. Allison laid down in the pew and played games on my cell phone. I really really liked the movie and I am so thankful this movie was created! I plan on buying the DVD and maybe the Dare Book and soundtrack. I'm not sure if I will send the DVD to Philip or if I should wait for him to come home in November. I LOVE this movie!!

Our Baby, Baby Girl

Philip and I have finally decided on a name and since I have posted her name everywhere (Myspace, Facebook, email, Flickr, her nursery) I can't change my mind. Well I guess I could, but I'm not. Her name is Moriah Faith Windhorst. Philip and I were going to spell her name Mariah, but when I realized how it was spelled in the bible - Genesis 2:22, I wanted to change the spelling to Moriah.
I like the word Faith as her middle name because I would like it to be a reminder to her to always have Faith in God and she will carry that Faith wherever she goes and whatever she does. (Philip, the girls and I all have middle names from the bible as well. Philip Joseph, Denise Joy, Joslyn Trinity, Allison Mary)
When I suggested her first and middle name to Philip he really liked it and just stuck with it. He spread the news quickly to his side of the family.
I am 32 weeks pregnant. My back hurts so much when I come from a laying down position to a standing-up position. My pants are getting tighter, but I'm trying hard not to buy more maternity pants because I know I only have about a month and a half left. Of course I can't move as quickly as I would like to especially when it comes to house chores. The baby still moves a lot. I have a video of our baby in my womb on our Flickr Site. You should be able to see her swallowing some of the amniotic fluid and a little smile too (She must have heard the Dr and I talking about her daddy).
I am still working on the nursery and as soon as its done I will post pictures up!

Valentine's Day

The girls and I recieved a package from Grandma and Grandpa/Mom and Dad. We were all given Hoodie shirts, of course mine was a maternity hoodie, and many other goodies for Valentine's Day. The girls also recieved Valentine's Day cards from Philip's parents. The girls and I exchanged Valentine's gifts among each other. I took the girls ice skating (see the pictures in the previous blog) and they had such a blast! Next year's Valentine's Day will be so much more different from this one. Philip and our baby girl will be here to celebrate the "Day of Love" with us!!

Ice Skating!

Yesterday I took the girls ice skating downtown in the market place. I had a time trying to get the right size skates for the girls. I am very thankful the lady standing behind me in line knew english and was able to help us out! The girls got right out on the ice and began skating! I was so proud of them both. Joslyn and Allison had such a good time! After about an hour and a half we left, my toes were frozen!

BINGO!

Yesterday was Bingo night at Schweinfurt Elementary school. Joslyn and I played Bingo while Allison watched a movie in another room with other children. Neither Joslyn nor I won any of the 10 games we played. I was dissapointed. I really wanted to win one of the crystal prizes. Oh well, maybe next month! We still had a great time!

I was very nervous and very scared! I was only 18 years old, I broke so many morals and values I grew-up with. I wasn't married, I was practically living with Jason, I was pregnant, still had a Chasity ring...

It had almost been one month since I had my last cycle. I went to a free pregnancy test clinic and walked in. The lady at the front desk asked me to fill out some paper work and took me to a room. I sat in the room for a little bit and guess who walked in...Norma Windhorst, my now mother-in-law! I knew who she was because she would go to our high school a lot and I knew she was Philip's mom. She recognized me too. She talked to me (and I wanted to just run, I was shocked and embarrassed)! Norma gave me the pregnancy test and she came back in with my results and of course it was positive. Norma told me she wouldn't tell my parents and she tried to encourage me. I just wanted to leave the clinic...but who would have ever guessed, about 6 years later I would be her daughter-in-law, and that baby I was pregnant with would be here granddaughter!

August 20, 1999 - But she came a couple days early on the 18th, my brother's Birthday. So he spent his 17th birthday in the hospital with the family.

No, never threw-up or never felt really sick

Mcdonalds Hamburgers and fries and it showed!

11. WHO/WHAT IRRITATED YOU THE MOST?
I think everyone irritated me and the fact that I was so big irritated me. I was very uncomfortable and it seemed as though none of my clothes fit.

I was told by so many people, "its a boy". Because I was carrying the baby low or because other boys would cry when I would hold them...so many different 'wives tales'. She was a girl !!

I was surprised, but soo happy, I couldn't wait to dress her all up!

I started my pregnancy at 115 lbs and weighed 186 lbs at my last Dr. appointment! I was HUGE!

Yes, at St.Paul in room 6 with so many of my favorite women!

I knew about it

I was anemic, I couldn't ride in the car for very long without getting dizzy or light-headed. I was just BIG and everything I did was complicated to me!

19. HOW MANY HOURS WERE YOU IN LABOR?
I went to the hospital at 11pm on a Tuesday night, the 17th of August and she was born the next day, Wednesday the 18th at 8:16pm.

My mom and Jason, 2 nurses and the Dr (who came in the last few minutes)

Natural after hours of pushing! But I was willing to have a C-section!

23. DID YOU TAKE MEDICINE TO EASE THE PAIN?
Absolutely! I had the epidural as soon as it was possible!

8 lbs even

Jason and I decided on her name and the spelling of her name a few minutes after she was born in the hospital. Joslyn Trinity

Honor Roll Award Ceremony!

Joslyn's award ceremony was yesterday in the school cafeteria. Joslyn was one of eight 4th graders to make the Honor Roll. She recieved a certificate and an Honor Roll lapel pin. She had flowers waiting at home for her from me. I'm just so proud of her!

Hot Cross Buns!

Today in music class Joslyn learned how to play Hot Cross Buns on the recorder. She was so excited to show Allison and I what she had learned!! Good job baby!

30 Week Check-up

Today I had my 30 week prenatal check-up. The doctor looked at my iron level and said the number was good, so I don't need to continue with the iron injections. I was so happy and thankful. 2 monitors were placed on my belly for 20 minutes and I was able to listen to my baby girl's heartbeat. It was nice to hear her strong heart, however I really don't like the monitors they strapped to my belly. They are VERY uncomfortable and I was so tempted to take the monitors off, but I didn't. I then went to the sonogram room and was weighed (I weigh 147 lbs) and my doctor came in and began the sonogram. Everything looks good. Her organs are working well, her head measures perfect (I always think one day he will tell me, "Wow your daughter has a big head"...because Philip's head is big, but he hasn't said that). She weighs almost 3 lbs. (So I can say I really weigh about 144!) Everything looks very good! I will begin going to the Dr every 2 weeks from now until she makes her grand appearance. At the end of February my Dr said he may decide to put me back on iron injections just to make sure everything goes well through March and until I have her. I hope I dont have to though. I posted a video of our baby girl on our flickr site. She's looking good and moving lots!

Last weekend in January

The girls had another 3 day weekend. Joslyn spent the night at her really good friend's house Thursday night. I had more room to sleep in my bed! Joslyn spent all of Friday at her friend's house. Allison and I went to the post office and mailed off all our Valentine's Day boxes. We went shopping, went out to eat and did a little more shopping before we picked Joslyn up. On Saturday the girls and I went downtown and shopped. We were looking for black boots for Joslyn but didn't have any luck. We ate at a little German restaurant and made our way to the bowling alley. Allison has been asking to go bowling. We played a couple games and came home. We were all ready for bed. This morning we went to church. The sermon was okay. Today the chapel offered 2 new bible classes. I am attending a REALLY good bible study and I am so thankful. I really wasn't getting much out of church or the previous bible class, but I'm so excited and happy about the class I am in now! Thank you God! I feel like my relationship will grow stronger with Him and that's what I really need! I pray each and every Sunday gets better and better! The girls went to Sunday school as well. After church we went grocery shopping. We came home and the girls did their homework while I did laundry and cleaned the bathrooms. I think we had a good weekend and stayed busy!
