Back to Bible Study

I went back to my Wednesday bible study group this morning. I have not attended bible study since I had Moriah. It was good to be back. The ladies oooed and awwwwed over Moriah. My friend Triaha asked me to introduce Moriah to everyone. Triaha also gave Moriah a cute little, pink bible from all the women of the Chapel. It was very sweet! We had a great bible study today and I was so tired when I came home. Thank goodness Moriah had a bottle and went back to sleep with me. I was able to take an hour nap before the girls came home!
Just wanted to share something else. I received it in an email and I thought it was worth sharing...

Ready to Get Back into Shape!

My diet food and Workout DVD is here!! I ordered the NutriSystem Diet again! I lost weight on this diet before and I was at a good weight before I got pregnant with Moriah. I'm not real thrilled about the food, but it works for me. As with other diets, I don't have to shop for ingredients, or cook one meal for myself and another meal for the girls. All the food is ready to eat, I just need to heat the meals up! I also received a workout DVD again (I think the other DVD I have is at my parent's house) I really love the workout DVD. Its great! Now I just need to find a good time to workout. Moriah hardly lets me put her down. I ordered a swing for her, I hope she likes it. It should be here any day now. Maybe with Moriah in the swing I will be able to accomplish a lot more around the house!

Oh my goodness, I haven't tried a new recipe in such a LONG time! Maybe sometime this week I will try a new recipe!

I'm not working on anything right now. Moriah keeps me pretty busy!

Looking forward to:
Getting my baby girl's passport and going back to Texas for the summer!

Mother's Day 2009

Yesterday we celebrated Mother's Day. My girls were so sweet to me! Joslyn went to the commissary on Friday, just a few days before Mother's day, with one of her friends. She took some of her allowance with her and bought a flower arrangement for me. I had no idea. I was so surprised to see the pretty flowers on the table Sunday morning! Allison made cards for me at school. They were so cute! She also brought home a little plant from school for me as well. Joslyn and Allison spent all day playing outside with their friends and Moriah slept a lot of the day, so I had a pretty relaxing afternoon! Philip bought a Mother's Day card for me while he was here for Moriah's birth (he bought the card thinking Mother's day was that next Sunday. When I told him Mother's Day wasn't until May 10th he decided to leave the card here and I would just open it on Mother's Day). Philip called me Sunday night and assured me that he had a present in the mail for me and was sorry it didn't make it to me by Mother's Day. I'm excited to see what it is! Can't wait!!

Our New Little Piece of Sunshine!

Moriah Faith Windhorst is finally here! She came into the world on April 16, 2009 at 8:05 pm. I went to St. Josef's hospital on Wednesday April 15th at 8am to be induced (we wanted to be sure to have Moriah born while Philip was here in Germany and wanted to be sure that he would be able to spend time with her while he was on his 2 week R&R. My Dr and I planned that if she didn't come on her own by the 15th, that I would be induced). I was given tablets to help with the contractions at about 9am Wednesday morning. I was not dilating, but I was having bad contractions. I was given tablets every 2-4 hours throughout Wednesday and Wednesday night, but I was staying at 1 centimeter, I was not dilating. It was very frustrating! Thursday morning came and I was still at 1 centimeter. I was so upset! This should not be happening. This is my 3rd baby for crying out loud. She is supposed to just fly out! This delivery was supposed to be a breeze! My contractions were so bad, I was not eating or drinking anything. I began to think I would never have this baby and I should have just let her come on her own instead of being induced. I just wanted her out and I was willing to just have a C-section!! Thursday afternoon I was finally given an epidural! I was so relived. Somewhere between 7pm and 8pm my Dr came and gave me some medication through my epidural. I had no idea what it was or what he was doing (I really didn't have a very good idea of what I was given or what was going on, most of the midwives didn't know much English and my Dr didn't know ANY English. I had to just trust what they were doing!) About 5 or 10 minutes later I had the sensation that I needed to poop! I told Philip that I needed to go to the bathroom, and he would have to help me. Philip told our midwife that I needed to go to the bathroom. She wanted to check if I had dilated any. All of a sudden she says, "Look look her head!!" She tells Philip to grab on leg, She grabs the other and I begin to push. I was so weak, I felt like I was going to pass out! Thank goodness Moriah came out after about 4 pushes! She weighed 3500 grams (7 lbs 9oz) and was 53 centimeters long. Moriah and I had to stay in the hospital Thursday night, Friday, Saturday and Sunday because the pediatrician wouldn't be able to see Moriah until Monday morning! So after we got the clear to go and knew she was healthy we left the hospital so FAST. We were ready to get home and be with family!

Last Soccer Games of the Spring Season

Today Joslyn and Allison played their last soccer games of the Spring season! This was Allison first time playing soccer or any organized sport for that matter and she did such an awesome job! She played every minute of every game! Joslyn did an awesome job as well! She made a total of 5 goals for the season! The girls are looking forward to playing Fall soccer (we hope to be back in the states this Summer so the girl's won't be able to play Summer soccer here in Germany)

Passover Meal

Today at my weekly bible study we participated in a Seder Meal. It was a great experience. The Seder Meal is a Jewish ritual feast. It was neat to eat the symbolic food from the Seder Plate(We drank grape juice instead of wine) For the green vegetable we had parsley and dipped it into salt water- that was sooo salty! The green vegetable is a symbol of Springtime and the miracle of nature's renewal. The salt water is to remind us of the salty tears shed by the captured Israelites and each of us in times of sorrow.

We then had Matzah, which is the bread of poverty, the Jewish ancestors ate in the land of Egypt.

We spilled some "wine" (grape juice) to remind us of the many evils God saved the Jews from.

We had a small chicken leg to remind us of the blood of the lamb that saved the home from death of the first born.

We had bitter herbs to remind us of how hard and bitter the Egyptians made the Jews lives.

I really enjoyed the meals' meaning. We sang songs and read some scriptures from the bible. We wont meet next week because of Spring Break and who knows if I will be at our April 15th Bible Study because I should have Moriah!
