Laundry Day

Not much going on today. Just A LOT of cleaning! I mopped the floors, (that was my work out for the day)dusted, cleaned windows and I'm in the process of doing laundry. Just waiting to put my first 6 loads in the dryers, then I can put my next 6 loads into the washers. Philip isn't coming home tonight :( He has 24 hour Staff Duty. Its actually his first time pulling Staff Duty since we've moved to Germany. I was thinking about letting Allison and Joslyn sleep in my bed with me tonight, but I think I will pass. Instead I will enjoy this night in a nice comfy bed all by myself! Well I'm off to finish our laundry, cook dinner and watch Dancing with the Stars (we are a day behind the States in our TV programs). Have a Terrific Tuesday Friends!

Marriage Monday * Fighting My Insecurities!

As you know I am reading So Long Insecurity by Beth Moore.

I have had seasons of insecurity especially in my marriage. In Chapter 2 of the book I read a passage that really hit my heart and opened my eyes: "The insecure person also harbors unrealistic expectations about love and relationships. These expectations, for themselves and for others, are often unconscious. The insecure person creates a situation in which being disappointed and hurt in relationships is almost inevitable. Ironically, although insecure people are easily and frequently hurt, they are usually unaware of how they are unwitting accomplices in creating their own misery".

This describes me! I don't want to bring my insecurities into my marriage. It hurts my relationship with my husband. I really do need to lower my expectations of Philip and so I won't become disappointed when Philip doesn't meet my expectations and therefore letting my insecurities drown me. This is something I pray about daily, and this is my Marriage Monday

Palm Sunday

Joslyn, Allison and I went to church this morning. It was hard for me to get up, since we lost an hour of sleep with the time change. We made it though and I'm glad. Today is Palm Sunday!
Matthew 21: 6-9 The disciples went and did as Jesus had directed them; they brought the donkey and the colt, and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting,
‘Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord!
Hosanna in the highest heaven!’
Philip stayed home from church and I left Moriah asleep in her crib. In bible study today we talked about the 7 churches in Revelations (2:1-29), Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. It was very interesting and I am learning a lot! After church Philip took Joslyn and Allison to the movie theater to see Alice In Wonderland. I wasn't able to go because Moriah was not ready to take a nap so I decided to stay home with her, and let Philip and the big girls enjoy a movie together. I asked Philip to take the camera and take a few pictures just for my blog :) Thank you Philip!

March Bazaar

Joslyn's friend Joyce has a little sister, Desherita who is about Allison's age. Allsion and Desherita get a long so well! Last night Joslyn and Allison spent the night at Joyce and Desherita's  house. My friend Margie (joyce's and Desherita's mom) took all the girl's swimming at the local indoor pool. Philip, Moriah and I had lunch and then we headed to the...

...March Bazaar! There were so many different vendors from all over Europe at the bazaar. We had a nice time just looking around at all the different pottery, furniture, jewelry, wine and paintings.
The girl's are home now. They had a blast with their friend's. We all had a nice day even though we weren't all together! Tonight, here in Europe, we "Spring Forward" one hour!

Fantastic Friday!

The weather was really nice this morning. I would say it was in the 60's. Joslyn's friend Melia lives across the street from us. Melia comes over every morning to pick up Joslyn. Then Joslyn and Melia walk to Mia's house and pick her up. They all 3 walk to school together.  Allison was still eating breakfast when Joslyn and Melia left for school this morning. As Allison was putting on her sweater and backpack, she asked me if I would walk to school with her. Since Philip was home, Moriah was asleep and the weather was nice I was happy to walk to school with Allison. We talked about what we had planned for this weekend, we talked about her teacher (Allison knew her teacher would be absent today and she wondered who her substitute would be). I enjoyed walking with Allison and as the weather warms up I will plan to walk with her to school more often (when Philip is home and able to stay with Moriah while she sleeps)

I was unloading the dishwasher when the phone rang. I went to go grab the phone and walked back into the kitchen, this is what I saw...
... I had to quickly get my camera! Moriah is climbing into and onto EVERYTHING! She has learned how to open up cabinet doors too! I'm thinking about getting a baby gate for our kitchen entrance.
It's Friday so I get the day off from cooking! We're having pizza and a movie. Not sure what movie we will watch tonight. Moriah has not had a nap all day, so hopefully she will be in her crib asleep when we start the movie. Happy Friday!

Schweinfurt Elementary Chorus Performance

Joslyn is a member of the Schweinfurt Elementary School Chorus. Every Wednesday after school the chorus members had practice for the past 3 months. This evening all parents were invited to see the chorus performance, "A Tribute to Music" in recognition of "Music in our Schools Month". It was a wonderful, beautiful performance! The kids were awesome and their voices are amazing! Some of the songs the children sang were, "Himmel und Erde" in German, "Rules for Teachers", by Teresa and Paul Jennings. Joslyn did a wonderful job. We are so proud of her. I'm so happy Philip was able to make it to the program to support Joslyn as well. Next Wednesday the chorus members will have a party. Awesome job Joslyn!!

Wednesday Moring Bible Study

When the girl's left for school this morning I did not crawl back into bed. I went straight to the shower instead. I woke Moriah up at 8:15, put a cute outfit on her and fed her breakfast. I made it to the Wednesday morning weekly bible study at the chapel. I was late (of course). I missed the opening group devotions. However I made it in time for snacks and was able to greet friends before we split into our small groups. We just began a new study. For the next few weeks we will study and discuss Intimate Issues 21 Questions Christian Women Ask About Sex.

Sounds like it will be a good study and the book looks really good too. I am excited about this topic and being able to listen and share with so many other women in my community. There were almost 30 women in today's bible study class! That is a lot more than I have seen since I've been here (Aug. 2008)! I will share what I learn as we get deeper into the study! Have a wonderful Wednesday!
