38 Weeks Pregnant with my Baby Girl

I went to the Dr today for my 38 week check-up. Everything is fine. Joslyn and Allison went with me today since my appointment was after they got out of school. They were in awe of hearing Moriah's heartbeat and hearing her move around inside the womb. The Doctor came in and showed the girls and I images of Moriah on the ultrasound computer. He says she will weigh between 7 and 8 pounds when she is born! About the same as Joslyn and Allison...thank goodness she won't weigh as much as Philip did when he was born- a whopping 10 pounds!! I have a video of her on our Flickr site. Its not as good as I thought it would be, but we only have 2 more weeks before we can see Moriah face to face!! Too excited!

Spaghetti. I dont have much energy to cook at all these last couple weeks, I'll be ready to cook better meals after I have this baby!

On my To Do List:
Tomorrow- Laundry day! Clean house, Dr. Appointment...the rest of the week- Bible study, PTA meeting, Soccer games, Parents come, shop for girl's Easter baskets!

New Recipe I tried last week:
I'm really not trying anything new. I'll wait until after this baby comes when I have more energy!

Looking forward to:
having the baby this month, family coming, and the dog going back to Texas!

set one day of the week aside just for laundry!!

Last week we celebrated the 100th day of the deployment! The girl's and I went to Kessler Gym for some fun and food! This is a picture of Allison and her friend sliding down one of the bouncers. They did this over and over and over again!


Lesson learned the past few days:
Buy all the laundry detergent I need for Laundry Day on Sunday!

Back to Blogging!

A lot has happened since my last blog. My 2 sweet neighbors downstairs gave me a baby shower. They provided everything for the shower, all I had to do was invite friends and show up! It was so nice and I'm so thankful they did this for Philip and I.




The Black Fire- Joslyn's soccer team and the Orange Tiger's- Allison's soccer team played against each other. Joslyn's team won 3-2! It was fun to watch. Both girls played the entire game!



Allison had an award ceremony at school this past week. At the Wilbur Award Ceremony Allison recieved a certificate for improving her reading skills. Along with recognition, a certificate and ice cream from the principle I gave her a cute little elephant. I tried to find a piggy since the Pig is her mascot but I couldn't find a pig. She was thrilled and I'm so proud of her!





I am 37 weeks pregnant. In 2 days I will be 38 weeks. Only 2 more weeks to go!!

A Nice Weekend

The girls and I started this weekend off with the monthly 172nd Battalion potluck. The dinner theme was Italian. Our company was responsible for bring side dishes. I brought Cesar pasta salad to share. The girls and I played BINGO in hopes of winning one of the 10 crystal prizes. Allison did get a BINGO, but she won a basket full of chocolate candy. So now we have Halloween, Christmas, Valentine's Day and St. Patric's Day candy with Easter just right around the corner!! Friday night Joslyn spent the night at her friend, Mia's house. On Saturday Joslyn went to Discovery Lego land with Mia and her mom. They went with an organization called B.O.S.S. (I could have gone with Allison, but I am not in any condition to take a bus ride for about 3 hours and be on my feet all day. I'll start taking trips through B.O.S.S. after the baby is born and I have most of my strength and energy back.) Joslyn had a blast!! Of course I don't have any pictures to share, but we will go to Lego land as a family someday. Saturday Allison and I went downtown and shopped. I also recieved a phone call from the commissary. I entered my name in a drawing and they told me my name had been drawn and I WON Guitar Hero 3!! I was so excited, I dont even know how to play the game, but I was just so excited I had won something! Then Saturday night Allison and I went to a neighbor's house for a Mary-Kay party. It was at one of Allison's classmate's houses so Allison had a good time with her friend while I sampled and bought some make-up. I promised the girls that if I had money left over from getting my car fixed and paying our monthly bills I would buy the Wii for them. So Sunday after church we went to the PX and I bought the Wii. I also gave the girls a heads-up that I might not be able to figure out how to hook the system up, so they may have to wait until Philip comes home next month. Well the girls helped me out a lot! They knew EXCATLEY what they were doing and most likely could have hooked the system up themselves. They knew everything! I didn't even look at the instructions. They were amazing (they saw their dad hook-up his Wii back in Texas) It was amazing! The girls were off from school today (teacher work day) so the girls came along with me while I ran a few errands. We went to the Schweinfurt "Hot-Spot"...the new mall !! We haven't been to a mall since we left the states- so almost 9 months now. It was very nice, even the parking was easy (Im not sure how it is on the weekends though, we will find out next Saturday, I plan to go back) The girls and I looked around a bit and bought another Wii remote. We had a nice weekend!

As Good as New!

After a total of $850 my car is fixed! I'm so happy! I took my car to the car wash and then the girls and I did a little detail job on the inside. I have not vacuumed the inside of my car since my car arrived in Germany! It feels like a brand new car now! I'm just so thankful it is fixed. I would feel my anxiety rise every time I drove somewhere. I was so worried my car would just break down somewhere and I would be without a car. I'm so blessed and thankful I had the funds to have the car fixed especially before my parents come in a couple weeks as well as before the baby arrives.

Catching up to Today!

We are staying busy over here! The girls are involved in a lot of activities and I am trying to stay involved in the community as much as possible without over doing myself. I finished Moriah's Nursery! I'm 35 weeks. We're almost there!

Both Joslyn and Allison had their first soccer games this past week. (Momma's gonna brag) Joslyn was the star of the game, she made 3 goals and helped lead her team to their first win!!

This past week was also Read Across America at the elementary school. The teacher's and staff celebrated Dr. Seuss, his book, poem and his birthday all week long. On Friday the PTA provided Birthday cake for all the students during their lunch hour.


Allison spent Friday night at her friend, Jaden's house for Jaden's 8th Birthday. Then on Sunday we went to the bowling alley for Jaden's Party. Joslyn brought her friend Mia along. Joslyn and Mia bowled 3 games together. I visited with the other mom's who were at the party.


My car has been giving me problems since last August. I am so thankful my car, despite the problems it has, never broke down on me and I was still able to get around. I turned my car in last Monday and the mechanic ordered a lot of sensors for my car (550 dollars worth of sensors). The parts came in today. I turned my car back into the car car center and now I will have to pay the labor part of the bill. I am just so glad my car is getting fixed!

Last week in February

Last weekend the girls and I went to the movies for the first time in about 6 months. We saw the movie The Tale of Despereaux. The girls really had a good time, and enjoyed the movie. On Tuesday Joslyn and Allison were scheduled to have their first soccer practice, but we missed it. I had no idea where the practice was being held. We ran into our neighbor, who is Joslyn's coach, and he gave us directions to the soccer fields. Both Joslyn and Allison made it to Thursday nights soccer practice. They had a good time. Joslyn is very disappointed with her team however. She is the oldest and does not like playing with the little kids. There isn't much that can be done about that. I did give Joslyn the option of not playing Spring Soccer and waiting until the fall season (I plan on being in the states during summer soccer) but I think she has decided to stick it out! Yesterday I took the girls back to the theater and we saw the movie, Bedtime Stories. I know its probably been out for a while in the states and maybe even already out on DVD, we are a little behind on the shows we get over here. We like going to the movies, its fun!
Tomorrow I turn my car into the Car Care Center which is on a different base but close to ours. I am really praying that the problems with my car are able to be fixed and quickly. I hope Im not out of a car for too long. So please pray for our car situation!
